Check out the following tips so that mental health is maintained! - Hello, Healthy Friend! Did you know that October 10 was celebrated as Mental Health Day. Well, it turns out that mental guarding is as important, as physical health. Let's see more review!

What is mental health?
Mental health according to WHO, is defined as a state of well-being where each individual realizes his potential, can cope with the pressures of normal life, can work productively, and is able to contribute to his community. Maintaining mental health is necessary and as important as maintaining physical health.

Why is maintaining mental health important?
Do you know? Mental disorders are risk factors for other diseases. In addition, mental disorders are a risk of accidental or intentional injury. WHO (2014) says that mental disorders can increase the risk of diseases such as HIV, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and vice versa.

In fact, around 20% of children and adolescents in the world have mental disorders. Whereas in Indonesia, the prevalence of mental emotional disorders as indicated by symptoms of depression and anxiety for ages 15 and older reached 6% according to RISKESDAS in 2013.

Tips for maintaining mental health

  • Take time to  time

Take the time and take the time to do hobbies or things that Healthy Friends like. It doesn't hurt if you do a number of things to "breathe" from stress or burdensome thoughts. Vacation for a moment and relax to do things you like or body treatments in the salon, spa or  self-treatment  at home can be done to reduce stress.


  • "Fast" gadgets or  gadgets

Before going to sleep, what are you doing? Do you often check your  smartphone  and don't feel the time passes quickly? The duration of the use of devices in daily life can affect the quality of sleep. Though sleep quality is important for maintaining mental health. Limit the use of devices and use them wisely, yes!


  • Exercise

Sports are not only useful for physical health but also mentally. Exercising helps reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. You can do group sports with friends and family, in addition, vary the type of exercise that is done so as not to get bored quickly.


  • Get to know yourself

Healthy friend, try to contemplate and recognize what are the things that affect your mental health. Like when and what can stress you out? Do Healthy Friends feel lonely? Is the workload currently too excessive? Drastic changes that have taken place over the past two weeks can indicate pressure both emotionally and mentally.
